In a world of podcasts

I quickly put this list of Podcasts together for a friend halfway through lockdown but I thought I’d share with the wider world.

I absolutely love podcasts and I’ve been listening to them for years; The Scott Mills radio show podcast back in the day used to be on my iPod nano and my go-to when mucking out the horses. My taste has definitely grown from Scott and the very brave girl Laura who worked on the show; She let him read out her old diary on-air (What!)

The list ranges from Sex to the Archers so something for everyone. Listen while driving, walking the dogs, or just pottering around the house/garden.

The Archers, daily or weekly but it stopped for a while due to COVID and at the moment it’s an odd style of recording and I haven’t got back into it. Missing the old version, it’s been part of my week for YEARS!

Elizabeth Day, How to fail. This is just my absolute favorite, I’ve metal listed all my failures and I’m just waiting for the call from her!!!

Love Stories, Dolly Alderton. Like, how to fail I’ve listed my loves and I’m just waiting for the call. Honestly wish she would carry on this podcast, she’s a brilliant interviewer.

Table Manners, Jessie Ware. Brilliant interviews from Jessie and her mum. Like any mother, there’s no filter and just says what she’s thinking. The cookbook is on my Christmas list.

David Tenant, interviews wish he was still doing these, to be honest.

Money Box, Radio 4 – I pick and choose, normally when Hew has heard it on the radio and mentioned it. It’s a Radio 4 classic.

Fucks Given, X-rated, don’t listen out loud. Hilarious, awkward, and brilliant, even educational.

Bryon Gordon, Mad world. The Prince Harry episode one launched the start of this and the first series is brilliant. I think for a lot of people it started the conversation about mental health and as a result, a lot of other podcasts have grown from this.

Millennial love, an easy listen from two great girls from the independent they should break away and do their own thing.

Today in Focus, the guardian. I pick and choose, there have been some really interesting episodes and there’s always some interesting discussion points to share with people after. Very COVID or Brexit (WHOO) heavy and I tend to just skip past those and listen to the ones about world issues or hidden Princess.

Woman’s Hour, pick and choose which ones I listen to but it’s a timeless classic.

Fern Cotten, Happy Place. Evenings driving this is my go-to, I save them up for the drives. Always has great guests that you wouldn’t normally come across and personally, I’ve taken so much from these – just say what I think and not having to conform to others – don’t want to go the party just say don’t make an excuse!

Dog cast, Claire Balding. Recommend by Hew’s mum. Dog lovers dream, so interesting slowly becoming my favorite. I love Claire she takes me back to fangirling at badminton horse trails.

George Ezra & Friends, great for a long car journey the Elton John one is a blink into his world. George is so softly spoken and he genuinely wants to speak about music.

The purist of Bliss, the law of attraction as you know is one of my topics that given more time I’d talk for hours about it. American podcast, so for a British lister it can be a bit much for our stiff upper lips but enjoyable in sections.

Manifest babes, again the law of attraction. I won’t bore you but again positive vibes and dream of the success!!

Frankie Bridge – OPEN, I’m reading her book atm. Really honest about life and her mental health. Like many, I didn’t realise the battle she had going on and it also helps to educate others of mental health

Louis Theroux, Grounded. Who doesn’t love a Louis documentary, this has been a great lockdown listen.

The high low, used to absolutely love and I go in phases it but if you get behind it’s off-topic.

Desert Island disks, a classic nothing else to say.

India Hicks – Story of her mother, the queen’s lady in waiting. It sounds like a different world from ours. I need to look for more autobiographical/history listens

Tara Talks, a new one to the list, spotted on someone else’s Instagram story and they recommended it. The last episode has been the kick I needed to do something I’ve been talking about for a long time.

Ones on the to-do list;

Shagged, Married Annoyed

Jason Fox

Couch to 5k – been on the list for years never done it / started once just walked around in activewear for the day.

I’m sure I’ve missed some off but if you have any suggestions I’d love to hear them. Ex

Gin o Gin

Gin was consumed for this photo, I needed the bottle! As gins go this is my ABSOLUTE Favourite one and not just because the bottle is so pretty. Something about the taste of it that just makes it feel like your sitting on the river bank in Scotland.

Isle of Harris is on the list of places to go especially now I’ve run out gin.

The bottle lights are from amazon, not the cheapest but they come with batteries and spares – handy ! Click here to buy https://amzn.to/2XG29Vs

I’m watching you too

She looks pretty livid below and so she should do, her hours of adventures are hopefully a thing of the past now I’ve brought a tracker from Pawfit.

Pawfit 2 Dog GPS Tracker & Activity Monitor Included Embedded SIM Card, Pet GPS Tracking Device with IP68 Waterproof, GPS Tracker for Dogs and Large Cats

Full review to follow, we’ve only had one lone wolf adventure and she was only gone for minutes instead of hours. Be able to have a notification when she’s left the safe zone definitely works.

Lockdown team

Just the three of us and how wonderful its been (most of the time). We’ve walked miles over the last couple of months, areas I’ve never seen before. For anyone that doesnt know this is part of my job SO no hour exercise rules have been broken.

For thoses that have asked my Jacket is from Musto, its lightweight so perfect for the spring but also means I layer up under it for the winter months. The hood comes off and I only put it on for the really wet days. Its over a year old now and still look good as knew, I love that musto make things to last it doesnt make you feel as guilty when you buy one.

Link below to a very simlar one.
